The University of California, San Diego, Hong Kong Student Union (HKSU) is the only officially recognized Cantonese-speaking student organization in UCSD. HKSU was founded in 1997 by several passionate Hong Kong students. Ever since its founding, the organization has been growing in size and scope every year. Today, it has become one of the most active international student organizations on campus.
UCSD香港學生會(簡稱:HKSU)是大學官方唯一認可的廣東話學生團體。HKSU成立於1997年，自創下來，HKSU的規模每年一直在擴張。至今，已成為UCSD內，其中最踴躍的國際學生團體之一。
Our Vision • 宗旨
In light of the astounding international recognition of Hong Kong as Asia’s world city and on the verge of celebrating our 17th anniversary of the Hong Kong Handover, we believe that HKSU is a perfect platform to fuse the traditional Chinese culture with the new-fangled Western ideals.
Our vision is to promote the welfare of the Cantonese-speaking Chinese student body. We also identify the student body with social issues in the interests of Hong Kong people in hopes to promote cultural awareness of Hong Kong. We also provide a social environment for those who want to stay in touch with the Chinese culture as well as those who want to find acceptance and sense of belonging in the States.
有鑑於香港為國際金融中心，以及將臨香港回歸中國17周年慶典，HKSU目標推展一系列活動，務求推廣香港中西合璧的精神。
本會以學生得接訥，得融入大學／外國生活為宗旨。除了讓學生群體廣大社交圈子外，本會更希望推廣香港文化和促進學生就香港時事的觸角。
